In today’s era of technological overload it can often times be hard to decipher what information is a gem and what is better left behind. I feel like this is and will continue to be some what of a conspicuous issue considering there are not many checks and balances outside of scholarly written peer reviews.
That leaves the rest of the moderation to big media companies who have been proven to accept money to drive specific views of which I will not divulge. All of that being said, we all have ideas that may seem great in theory but sometimes they do not pan out exactly the way that we initially thought they would.
After taking some time to reflect and dissect this issue I have found what for me is a surefire way to get to the best results the quickest way possible…. This may seem a bit cliché, but simply setting goals, taking action, and following through has and most likely always will yield the best results. Though there is nothing wrong with gathering copious amounts of knowledge and resources, the window of opportunity does not wait and it demands swift actions on todays competitive markets.
How Does This Apply to Real Estate?
This philosophy’s truth is shown when looking at the metrics of real estate agent’s entry and exit into the industry. Approximately eighty-percent of real estate agents in America will not renew their license at the end of their term. Often these new agents will underestimate the workload that goes into the industry and are unwilling to put in the effort needed to succeed in the field.
For me, that challenge was overcome by following the principles I mentioned earlier. I set goals for myself, took the time understand the scope of the industry and pushed myself to keep up with what it demanded of me. The great thing about this? The more work you put in, the more consistently you follow through with your goals, your business will scale up with it. Consumers in any industry will often choose brands that are reliable and visibly devoted to their work, and this especially the case with real estate. When a client is looking for their dream home, they want someone they know is going to work their butt off for them. Someone they know is hard working, personable, and reliable. An agent’s popularity (and therefore clientele base) is largely based on word-of-mouth. So, the more reliable you are, the more personable, the more likely your clients are to recommend you to others.
